What is a silane ceramic treatment agent?

Silane/ceramic treatment is used before metal coating; selection must match the substrate, cleaning process and downstream coating.

Where is silane/ceramic treatment used?

The silane/ceramic product page on the original Qingyuan website identifies it as a metal pretreatment technology used before coating. After suitable cleaning and treatment, an inorganic–organic hybrid layer forms on the metal surface to connect the substrate with a subsequent organic coating. In this context, the product is not a ceramic glaze additive and is not an additive for carburising cast iron, lowering pouring temperatures or removing furnace coke.

The role of the treatment layer

The key consideration is compatibility between the treatment layer, metal substrate and coating. The original product page describes a nanoscale, three-dimensional network film. Actual adhesion and corrosion results still depend on substrate condition, cleaning and rinsing quality, bath control, coating system and curing conditions. Performance must be validated as part of the complete coating process.

Substrates and application methods

The original product table lists applications involving steel, aluminium and galvanised components, with immersion or spray methods specified by model. Not every model suits every substrate or machine: confirm the documentation for the proposed product. Models on this website must not inherit concentrations, treatment times or performance data from different models listed on the original website.

What should be confirmed before selection?

Describe the substrate and any mixed-metal assemblies, oils and oxides, existing cleaning and rinsing stages, spray or immersion equipment, and downstream powder coating, painting or electrodeposition requirements. Then confirm any need for ambient-temperature operation, water quality, bath testing and maintenance, and the target adhesion and corrosion acceptance criteria.

Process and use limitations

The original website describes characteristics such as phosphate-free formulations, ambient-temperature operation and straightforward control. The formulation, operating temperature, discharge requirements and precautions for a specific model remain subject to its TDS, SDS and site conditions. Adopting a treatment technology does not establish zero discharge or remove the need for wastewater management. A salt-spray result for one model must not be applied to the entire range.

This article was revised using the silane/ceramic product page on the original Qingyuan website. Unrelated historical statements about ceramic additives, carburising and furnace coke have been corrected. Contact the technical team to establish operating parameters through component trials.

Revised on 6 November 2026 using original Qingyuan product documentation. Confirm processing conditions against model-specific TDS, SDS and trials.
